Omid 16B compiles a superb 5 track Summer Sampler for the next release on SexOnWax Recordings. Nantais & Hazendonk serve up a solid remix of Omid 16B & Alex George’s ‘Deep Water.’ Oriental-esque strings create an exotic soundscape whilst the percussion ‘scatters’ in and out before settling into a constant driving pace. The synths gradually creep in underneath swooping over the beat whilst the warm, thumping bass keeps the beat grounded. Next up, Alex George’s ‘My Robot Dream’ is a suitably named track. The minimal percussion is layered by ‘glitchy’ melody that creates an almost ‘calculating’ soundscape. The melody weaves itself throughout the beat, leading the charge on an unpredictable groove. Leo Perez and Garzia’s ‘Flight 2112’ beat rocks back and forth with a gradual throbbing, bassline that moves in to supply a dominant groove and add an air of dark tones, baring a hypnotic nature, deserving of early morning dance floors. The release moves on with Michelangelo & Giacomo’s ‘Cosmic Balance’, a dreamy, tranquil affair. The drums gently patter whilst synth notes swoop back and forth in waves. A subtle melody gently skips over the top creating a soothing, hypnotic feel carrying the listener through a ‘cosmic’ soundscape. Finishing off, Kevin Toro keeps it all minimal with ‘Beautiful Illusion.’ The percussion keeps to a steady pace whilst the melodic bass adds a ‘rising’ feel. A catchy synth melody bounces over the top giving the beat a trance like edge.
